The Fabulous Hudson Hornet
The Hudson Hornet was one of the vehicles that made NASCAR racing viable, but NASCAR didn’t help Hudson, at least not enough to stave off its demise.
Hudson was founded in 1909 by Howard Coffin, George W. Dunham, and Roy E. Chapin.
Jim Hall’s Chaparral
Found by Texas oil magnate Jim Hall, the Chaparral Car Company built prototype race cars from the early 1960’s to the early 1980’s. The distinctive race car were successful both at home and in Europe. Read on or visit the official Chaparral site.
The Howmet TX
The American Howmet TX turbine was pieced together by a group of SCCA drivers led Ray Heppenstall in 1967. Heppenstall had developed his own design for a gas powered turbine engine. Howmet Corporation funded his project, lending their name to his car. Read on.
